When should you contact us?
Social Security allows 60 days after receipt of a denial to file the appeal. It is assumed that you receive the denial within 5 days after it is mailed.
Call us as soon as possible after receiving a denial, so we will have time to evaluate your case and, if we represent you, assist in filing the appeal.
What if you have already filed your appeal?
If you have already filed the appeal and do not have a representative, you can call at any time—but calling early gives us more time to prepare your case.
Please understand that until Social Security's form designating Mr. Peabody as your representative has been signed by both you and Mr. Peabody, we are not representing you. Until then, it is your responsibility to make sure your appeal is filed on time.
